As the Congressional vote on the payroll tax extension draws near, Tea Partied AND ‘Grovered” Republican Senate and House leaders McConnell and Boehner announced that they agree with the idea that payroll taxes should be extended, BUT here’s the catch. They “plan” to pay for the extension, SOLELY, on the backs of middle class families and poor families with NO surtax on millionaires!
Here’s the Tea Partied Republican “Plan” (???) for paying for the payroll tax extension:
1. Institute a 3 year freeze on federal workforce pay
2. Reduce the size of the federal workforce by 10% putting 200,000 employees out of work - you won’t believe what comes next,
3. Require MILLIONAIRES to pay full fare for Medicare Parts B and D (Note that Medicare Parts B and D DON’T cover major or catastrophic medical services. Part B covers outpatient care, physical therapy and home health care – Part D addresses prescription drug coverage) – wait, it gets even better,
4. Prohibit MILLIONAIRES from receiving unemployment benefits or food stamps!!!
Can anyone in their right mind explain to me why a MILLIONAIRE would need unemployment benefits, food stamps, or government assistance for outpatient care, physical therapy, home health care or prescription drugs?
