Republican lawmakers AND health care industry lobbyists who are threatening non-support of Health Care Reform legislation based, SOLELY, on the “public option” provision need to clarify their position. Does their opposition mean that they are, ALSO, against MEDICARE, veterans AND CONGRESSIONAL health care coverage which are ALL based on the “public option” principle?
The realities are…
1. the American taxpayers pay a HIDDEN TAX for the uninsured
2. There are no present day “options” for privately insured taxpayers whose health care coverage is delayed or denied.
3. The HIDDEN beneficiaries of present day, skyrocketing private health care costs are the health care industry.
The term “option” is defined by choice. Choice leads to competition. Competition drives down costs. It’s NOT “socialism”. It’s NOT “death panels”. It’s NOT ‘rocket science’ either. It’s what living in a democracy is supposed to be about – CHOICE!
