If you really stop to think about, President Obama’s
reelection was not so much about a
loss for Romney as it was a tribute to
the 47% who overcame incredible odds
to exercise their basic right to
vote more than any other time in American history outside of the Jim Crow
years! Of particular note is that the
President won in two of the states where Republican
governors, legislators, state election officials, state attorney generals and Super Pacer(s) fought the hardest and shelled out the most
dollars to deny Americans the right to vote – Pennsylvania , Ohio and
most likely Florida as well once Governor Rick Scott's, Republican legislators' and Republican election officials' voter suppression tricks are ironed out and the final tally is in.
The President’s reelection was also a tribute to the 2008 coalition representative of all America - Blacks, Latinos, Asian Americans, Native Americans, women, moderates, young voters, seniors and white men – most of which voted in greater numbers than in 2008 and never stopped supporting the President’s Better America for all Americans Agenda despite right wing pundits on CNN and FOX who tried their hardest to put down the 47%’ intelligence and relevance throughout the 2012 Election campaign. Guess what - community organizing is hard work and it works!
The 2012 General Election was the 47%(ers) mandate to
end Tea Partied obstructionism
not only
by gaining and/or maintaining 5 seats in the US Senate, but also in voting
out Tea Partied extremists in 4 House seats with a possibility of more to
come in the final tally.
Tea Partied House
Republican leaders are vowing to
continue their Just Say No Obstruction
Agenda on the backs of the 47%, but remember
that most of them will be up for reelection in the 2014 Midterm Election which is just a short 2 years away!
So, as much as you will be hearing Tea Partied Republican elected
official’s and right wing pundits’ post-election
spin that the 2012 Election is ”a
mandate for President Obama to reach
across the aisle”(!?!?!) , remember the reality
that was so elegantly and patriotically
stated by none other than Governor
Romney in his concession speech…
The election is over.
Now it is time for…
leaders to reach across the aisle,
to put an end to bi-partisan
bickering,
for job creators to create jobs and invest in America and
to pray for our leader
GOTTA VOTE!
All the time!
