Shop Small Business Saturday on November 24th!

Spins aside, let’s continue with the spin detectives’ Pay it Forward  for Thanksgiving  theme to boost our local economies on November 24^th.  Shop Small Business Saturday is a highly successful campaign implemented in 2010 by American Express.  The concept is designed to “support and shop your local business in your community which has unique clothing,  and jewelry, friendly book stores and one-of-a-kind works of art”. (ncmenterprisess.com)

So, why is it so important to participate in this event? According to the Small Business Administration, “small businesses employ about half of all private-sector employees in the U.S.” Shopping at local businesses helps these smaller shops “keep their doors open and their workers employed.” (Money Talks News).  

In addition to helping  small businesses  “keep their doors open and their workers employed”,  Shop Small Business Saturday provides an opportunity to get outside, walk off those extra Thanksgiving inches, rediscover your neighborhood in a new way, and Pay it Forward when you meet your neighbors and make new friends.
