Obama Polls: The Devil is in the Details!

Radical right wing media outlets frequently misstate President Obama's approval ratings as "low". They want you to think that the 2014 Midterms is about a President who isn't on the ballot instead of on the Just say No, voter suppressing records of Tea Partied congressional, gubernatorial and state legislator representatives who are on the ballot!.

The truth of the matter is that .President Obama's approval rating is pretty good when it comes to the detailed responses of individuals who aren't suffering from blackOphobia!

One of the most recent polls was sponsored by the right wing Washington Post and ABC.

The Post poll headline read as follows:

Wide Support for striking ISIS, but weak approval for Obama

Radical FOXifiers are having a field day with that one because the poll results appear to mirror FOX-sponsored polls touting President Obama’s approval ratings below 50%.

Note that FOX News(?) polls are based on a sampling of their viewers who are a "majority of white males with a median age of 65-plus!

The devil is in the details!

The Washington Post poll was based on the responses of a mere  1001 eligible voters out of a total of  207,643,594 eligible voters in the US!

Furthermore…
  • Out weighted samples of telephone surveys now conducted by most media outlets “cannot provide reliable estimates of population demographics like race and Hispanic ancestry,”
  • Any number of factors can cause polls by different firms to produce different results. These factors are called “house effect” – including survey dates, question wording and order, sampling and calling procedures.
  • The sharp rise in non-response to polls is “undermining the advantages of probability sampling.”
  • “Declining response rates may be complicating the ability of telephone polls to capitalize on the advantages of random sampling”.
  • Young and non-white voters are least likely to own a land line and least likely to respond to telephone pollsters.
  • Young voters are less willing to respond to telephone surveys.

Here's another hidden poll tidbit. When you go to the Washington Post polling site, you will see a little known link for each question entitled “details”.

The "overall" response for the question Do you approve or disapprove of the way Barack Obama is handling his job as president? is 42%:

The question's "details" reflect a very different response:

  • 84% Dems approve of President Obama's handling of his job,
  • 70%  moderate/conservative Dems and independents approve of President Obama's handling of his job, and
  • a whopping 6% Conservative Republicans approve of President Obama's handling of his job?!?!

Radical right wing media outlets don't mention the across all party lines response to the poll's question regarding individuals who will be on the ballot in November...

...Do you approve or disapprove of the way the Republicans in congress are doing their job?
  • 21% approve
  • 72% disapprove!
GOTTA VOTE
in record numbers
to end Just say No governance
and
to wipe out GOP voter suppression
