56% of domestic terror is bred by right wing extremists and the FOXified GOP is freaking out over refugees?

The FOXified right wing Bigotry Brigade is at it again.  Republican congressional lawmakers, Republican 2016 presidential candidates, Republican governors and Republican-based fake news networks are freaking out about accepting Syrian refugees.

The FOXified Republican political and fake news freak out would be justified if it was based on facts and solutions instead of on being stuck in Bizzaro World!

56% of domestic terrorist attacks and plots in the U.S. since 1995 have been perpetuated by right wing extremists!

The FBI reported that roughly two-thirds of terrorism in the United States is conducted by non-Islamic American extremists from 1980-2001; and 2002-2005, it went up to 95%.  (Some Statistics and Facts on Right Wing Extremism in the United States link below.)

Last year, for example, a man who identified with the sovereign citizen movement - which claims not to recognize the authority of the federal or local government - attacked a courthouse in Forsyth County, Georgia, firing an assault rifle at police officers and trying to cover his approach with tear gas and smoke grenades. (The Growing Right Wing Terror Threat link below.)

Right wing gun touting militias, neo-Nazis, and sovereign citizens are the biggest threat we face regarding terrorism in the United. States and right wing-led political and media-based propaganda against gun controls, government programs, a Black president, Muslims, immigrants and minorities only serve to fuel domestic terrorism sentiments. (See Why Republicans are determined to ignore the threat of right-wing extremism link below.)

The truth about Syrian refugee resettlement is quite different from the half-truths, lies, misinformation, and fear-mongering spouted by FOXified Republican congressional representatives, FOXified Republican presidential candidates, and FOXified fake news networks.

First of all, the Republican-based propaganda myth that there is a flood of Syrian refugees waiting at our borders to enter the U.S. without being, properly vetted is full tilt Bizzaro World!

Republican lawmakers'(?!?!?) GOP Sequester budget cuts resulted in “severely hindered” intelligence and national security improvements and Republican lawmakers(?!?!), recently, blocked legislation to stop suspected terrorists from buying guns!?!?!   (See Newly Unclassified Report Reveals that GOP Sequester Cuts Hindered National Security and NRA, Republicans block proposed law to stop suspected terrorists from buying guns in US  links below.)

These same Republican lawmakers(?!?!?) just led a vote to make it virtually impossible for Syrian refugees to resettle in the United States - Bizarro World!

It takes 2-3 years or more for a refugee to be resettled in the U.S. Applications are, first, vetted by the United Nations High Commission for Refugees. Once completed there, the application is vetted by the US Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS). If approved, the application is vetted by the International Organization for Migration. If any application raises a red flag, the case is forwarded to the Fraud Detection and National Security Division of USCIS. If cleared the application is vetted by the State Department. After all of that the application goes through another round of security screenings, including being vetted by the Department of Defense, the State Department’s Consular Lookout and Support System, the FBI’s Terrorist Screening Center, the National Counter Terrorism Center and others.

Other myths and facts about Syrian refugee resettlement in the U.S. can be found at the Myths & Facts in the Syrian Refugee Issue, Syria Crisis Fast Facts and Overview of the Refugee Situation, and Stretching Facts on Syrian Refugees links below.

Republican governors who are, currently, promoting guns everywhere laws; denying voting rights, and denying affordable health care for their constituents claim they can bar Syrian refugees - Bizarro World!

According to the Constitution which vests all of the immigration and naturalization powers in the Federal Government and makes Federal law the supreme law of the land, they don’t have the authority to do that.

The Refugee Act of 1980 authorizes that “the number of refugees who may be admitted under this section…shall be such number as the President determines.

One final point, the misleading FOXified media claim that the majority of Americans are against the resettlement of Syrian refugees to the United States based on a Bloomberg Poll is floundering in Bizarro World!

If they comprehended the full content of the poll, they would realize that the general results of the Bloomberg Poll are partisan!

A breakdown of the poll results reflect that among Republicans, just 12% want the Syrian refugee resettlement program to continue, while 69% want it ended. With Democrats, 46% would continue the program while 36% would shut it down.

Instead of aiming their sites on Muslim bigotry, FOXified Republican presidential candidates, congressional representatives, governors and fake news media outlets need to focus on how to contain the right wing extremists they are breeding at home!
