Twas a night 2015!

Twas the night before Christmas and all through the House,

Tea’d lawmakers were scheming as quiet as a mouse.

Bills for minimum wage, equal pay, jobs, assault weapon controls tucked in “NO!” votes with care

In hopes that by the 2016 election, they will just disappear.

NRA, corporate, and radical right wing lobbyists nestled snug in their beds

While visions of controlling Congress danced in their heads.

2016 GOP candidates caroling fear mongering raps

Had just settled down for a long one year nap.

When out on the White House lawn there arose such a clatter

They awoke from their comas to see what was the matter.

Away to their campaign coffers they flew like a flash

No tax increases for the wealthy, Tea’d lawmakers protect their stash.

The moon on the breast of the new fallen snow

Gave a luster of limbo to immigrants below.

When what to their wondering eyes did appear

But a non lame duck President who continues to care.

The greyed but not beaten driver was so lively and quick

Tea’d lawmakers were blinking -

This must be a trick!

More rapid than eagles executive orders and international agreements came

And he whistled and shouted and called them by name:

On historic 200 nation agreement to lower carbon emissions!
Now to reestablishing Cuban diplomatic relations!
On historic international deal to end Iranian nuclear proliferation!
On landmark trade agreement to uplift American workers and businesses in our nation

To the top of opening the doors towards immigration reform!

Now criticize away! Block away! Sabotage away all!

As leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,

When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky.

So, up to the debates and propaganda networks Tea’d 2016  GOP candidates flew

With a Grinch-filled bag of misinformation and Pinocchio-sized anti-Obama commentaries -

What else is new?

And then in a twinkling, they heard on the roof

The prancing and pawing of each partisan polled anti Obama/anti-Muslim spoof.

As they drew in their heads and turned around

The GOP Trumpeter came with a bound.

Dressed all in FOX and CNN manufactured fur from head to foot

Preaching the GOP’s secrete agendas tarnished with ashes and soot.

A bundle of anti-Obama finger pointing for the GOP Congress’ refusal to govern -

No tact!

They all looked like peddlers just opening their packs

Their lies – how they twinkled! Their fake scandals, so merry!

Their right wing terrorists blinders like roses, thorns sticking Americans

How leery!

Their droll little mouths were drawn down row by row

And the absence of voting rights legislation was as empty as snow.

The stump of their complaints with no solutions – ideas stuck in their teeth

Campaign smoke and mirrors encircled their heads like a wreath.

They had broad, fake smiles and Koch-filled bellies

That shook when they deceived, like a bowl full of jelly.

And I laughed when I saw them, in spite of myself;

A wink of their eyes and a twist of their heads!!!!!

The Exorcist sequel! Hide! Under the sled!

They spoke not a word, but went straight to work,

Filling all their campaign stockings with coal, then turned with a jerk.

And laying their finger aside their Pinocchio-sized nose

And giving a nod, towards do more of nothing they rose!

The President sprang to his sleigh – to his team gave a whistle

More Americans are working

Unemployment is down

More Americans have health insurance

Despite Tea'd GOP frowns

Dependence on foreign oil is down

And gas prices too
Our deficits have shrunk
Bin Laden and ISIL masterminds too

Businesses are creating more jobs since the 1990’s pace

Wages grew faster than any time since the recovery from the recession race

Jump started Immigration Reform

Manufacturing has grown

And the Dems and I did it all on our own!

And away they all flew like the down of a thistle

But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight –

Happy Christmas to all!

And to all a good night!
