Twas the night before Christmas and all through the ‘House’

Democrats were working as quiet as a mouse.

Tweaking ‘Build Back Better’ for Manchin while in his lair

In hopes that by January his humanity will appear.

‘Do Nothing’ Senate Republicans tossed and turned in their beds

While visions of Defeating America to Defeat Biden danced in their heads.

McConnell’s 'Grinchy'  brain cells caroling tweet-filled sap

Trying to get Manchin to sit on his lap!

When out on the White House lawn there arose such a clatter

Senate Republicans guarded their Tax Cuts for the Rich to see what was the matter.

Away to their ‘Pay for Play’ campaign coffers they flew like a flash

Making sure ‘Build Back Better’ Fair-Share Taxation wouldn’t limit their stash!

 

The moon on the breast of the new fallen snow

Gave a luster of limbo to Middle/Working Class and children in poverty below

When what to their wondering eyes did appear

But Biden’s Build Back Better Agenda - the first in 4 years!

Delivered Paid Family Leave, Child Tax Credit and vaccines across the nation

Halved child poverty, ended Forever Wars with massive Infrastructure Legislation

Delivered positive federal policy shifts from student loans  to human rights

No blinking, no shrinking -

Intent on setting things right!

 

Fed up with Republican Supreme Court Justices, Senators, Legislatures & Governors Vote Oppression tricks!

Biden’s House Democrats added John Lewis Voting Rights AND For the People Acts to their Fair Election list

Manchin/Sinema-Enabled Senate Republicans blocked both Acts without shame

But House Democrats kept delivering for The People just the same

They passed Covid Rescue, Infrastructure, Build Back Better, Consumer Protections too

Lower Health Care & Prescription Costs, Emergency Food & Rent Assistance …

 Just to name a few!

 

As leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,

When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky.

Up to the ‘Plaza’ Messy Jesse, Tucker the Mucker and FOX ‘Q’ Crew flew

With a fact-free bag of disinformation, race-baiting and lies -

What else is new?

And then in a twinkling, WE heard on the roof

The prancing and pawing of each FOXified COVID-Spreading Spoof!

 

As WE drew in our heads and turned around

McConnell’s Defeat Democracy to Defeat Biden Senate Republicans pounced with a bound.

Dressed all in ‘Nuke’ Gingrich-manufactured fur from head to foot,

Flashing Anti-Biden, Anti-Voting, Anti-Middle/Working Class, Anti-Fair Share Taxation Filibusters tarnished with ashes and soot.

A bundle of “NO!” Votes tucked under their hats.

They all looked like peddlers just opening their packs.

 

Their deceptions – how they twinkled!

Backed by House Republican Overturn Election Votes so leery!

Lowering For the People governing standards just to make McConnell cheery!

 

Their droll little mouths were drawn down row by row,

And their "NO!" Votes  in the Senate were as empty as snow.

The stump of their Filibusters stuck in their teeth

Defeat America to Defeat Biden encircled their heads like a wreath.

They had broad, fake smiles and bloated Tax Cuts for the Rich bellies

That shook when they deceived, like a bowl full of jelly.

And I laughed when I saw them, in spite of myself;

A wink of their eyes and a TWIST of their heads!

 

The Exorcist sequel! Hide! Under the sled!

 

Dems rolled up their sleeves, and continued to work

Tackling Republicans’ Party Over Democracy can’t be smirched.

And laying their finger aside their nose

And giving a nod, to the Capital they rose!

 

Biden sprang to his sleigh – to his Team gave a whistle.

And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.

But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight –

 

Happy Christmas to all!

Defending ’The People’ is well worth the fight!
