The Media’s Syria Hysteria: A Rush to Judgment - What do you think?

In too many instances, the media’s hysteria over Syria proved that the rush to judgment questioning the President’s Commander in Chief abilities was based on a series of misjudgments once again!

They rushed to judgment when the President announced his warning to shut down Syria’s chemical weapon arsenals misjudging his limited military strategy as a call to war.

They rushed to judgment when the President presented his plan to Congress in a move to jolt Tea Partied Republican lawmakers(?) into governing, misjudging his move as being weak.

They rushed to judgment when the President engaged in diplomatic negotiations with Russia misjudging the negotiations as his being outfoxed, but…

…when the President’s forceful military stance resulted in opening the doors for a diplomatic, international resolution to dismantle chemical genocide against humanity, they had nothing to say (!?!?!)

Some media pundits consistently fail to give President Obama credit for his proven Commander in Chief track record including – but not limited to - the Somalian pirates, the Gadhafi genocide factory, and the elimination of Bin Laden. In each of the above cases, the President’s actions were non-hasty, measured, and laser focused with no loss of US military lives!

  1. Before the President’s warning, Syria denied having and/or using chemical weapons against its citizens.
  2. After the President’s warning, the Syrian government is poised to accept the Russian proposal for Syria to hand over chemical weapons  amid a “flurry of diplomatic maneuverings around the world”.
  3. Russia agreed on an assessment that the Syrian government possesses 1,000 tons of chemical agents and precursors.
  4. Syria agreed to join the global Chemical Weapons Convention, and the UN said it would come under the treaty from October 14th.
  5. China, France, the UK, the UN and NATO have bought in to the process of Syria eliminating its chemical arsenal.
  6. Weapons inspectors should be on the ground in Syria by November with the goal of eliminating President al-Assad’s stockpile by mid-2014.

What do you think?
