Show the love!


  • Practice a random act of kindness.
  • Collect canned goods for a food bank.
  • Volunteer at a local soup kitchen.
  • Support our troops. Send a care package to deployed troops, veterans, wounded soldiers, or to families of soldiers who are deployed overseas.
  • Donate books, novels and other reading materials to  libraries and schools.
  • Teach a computer skill to an elderly neighbor.
  • Use social media to spread the word about a worthy cause through posts on your account.
  • Participate in a clean up of a street or a local park.
  • Volunteer at a homeless shelter – be a greeter, help cook, serve, clean up.
  • Volunteer at a local animal shelter – help clean up, walk/play with animals.
  • Read a book to a child, a blind person or an older neighbor.
  • Cheer up a sick friend with a visit or a phone call.
  • Collect old magazines and donate them to day care centers.
  • Clean up a vacant lot.
  • Collect grocery coupons to give to a local food bank.
  • Volunteer your talents at a charity event.
  • Adopt from a local Humane Society.
  • Visit a nursing home – read a book, bring a card, or just be a good listener.
  • Shovel snow for an elderly or disabled neighbor.
  • Deliver Valentine cards/cookies to the sick, the elderly, the homeless and their caregivers.
  • Give a thank you card to those who serve you every day – bus driver, barista, janitor.
  • Leave your waiter an extra tip.
  • Clean your closets and donate clothes, toys, household items etc. to Goodwill or the Salvation Army,
  • Participate in charity walks/runs that raise money for a good cause.
  • Offer to take care of a pet for an ill or homebound neighbor.
  • Donate coloring books to hospital emergency rooms.
