The GOP-led Corporate Charter Barter: Segregated Public Ed At Its Finest!

The Republican Congress, governors and state elected officials must stop slashing public education funds to fund tax cuts for the wealthy and corporations!

School choice is a good thing, but when school choice is bloated by  bartering away public education funds and opportunities in order to boost corporate bank accounts, there's a serious problem.

Public school closings, teacher lay-offs, abnormally  high student/teacher ratios, text book shortages, crumbling  school buildings, the cutting of early childhood education programs, the cutting of music, art, and physical education programs. The list goes on and on when it comes to Republican congressional and state elected officials denying equal educational opportunities for all in order to boost quality education and the corporate bank accounts of the few!

Charter school administrators and teachers are paid far more than their public education counterparts and public education tax dollars subsidize the charter school bill!

Charter school classrooms are far better equipped than their public school counterparts and public education tax dollars subsidize the charter school bill!

Charter schools can pick and choose the students they want in their classrooms. So, when elected officials brag about high standardized test scores and college acceptances, the chartered selectivity odds are stacked in charter schools' favor.

Charter schools take over entire floors and, sometimes, entire buildings in public funded educational facilities. They don’t have to pay for electricity. They don’t have to pay for heat or building maintenance. The money they save on infrastructure costs are passed on to the slashed infrastructure budgets of the students they choose not to accept.

When charter school personnel and students are transported in public funded buses to bully Democratic governors and state legislators into funding charter schools, they are subsidized by the Koch Brothers and other corporate giants to control and destroy public educational opportunities for selected poor, urban students they choose not to educate.

When you see school choice advertisements promoting vouchers, don’t be fooled. Those ads are funded by the Koch Brothers and other corporate giants to control and destroy public educational opportunities for selected poor, urban students they choose not to educate.

All public schools should be chartered!

Fight for equal educational opportunities!
