Day 1: Trump enables the GOP's CARNAGE on voting rights! Stop it in its tracks!

On Day 1 Trump directed his Department of Justice to “request that a Texas court delay a hearing to determine whether the state intentionally discriminated in passing a voter ID Law.”

After conservative Supreme Court justices struck down a key provision of the Voting Rights Act in 2013, the Obama Administration supported legal action to Republican voting restrictions in places like Texas and North Carolina.

Last year, a federal court of appeals struck down a 2011 Texas Law that required “racially discriminatory”  actions to make it “harder for African-Americans and Latinos”  to vote!

The Texas voter discrimination law which was kick started by Trump’s Energy Cabinet pick, former Texas Governor Rick Perry…

• “Undercut the electoral strength of the state’s growing minority population”
• “Turned away voters when they attempted to vote”
• “Denied voters provisional ballots" to attempt to resolve voter ID issues
• Placed “burdensome travel and expenses” to get required documentation to obtain ID’s

Trump’s Day 1 action to wreak carnage on voting rights via Texas will enable similar actions across all vulnerable Republican-led states when Trump's Republican Congress starts stacking the federal courts with right wing activists after blocking the filling of 100 federal court slots throughout President Obama's presidency!
  

Trump's enabling of the  GOP's carnage on  voting rights must be stopped in its tracks!

Call the Republican Congress!
Tell them to reinstate voting rights denied by conservative Supreme Court justices evisceration of   the Voting Rights Act!

AND
Tell Mitch McConnell that if he and his Republican Senators stack the federal courts with right wing activists, WE will stack our votes against Republicans in 2018!
